Two Russian oil tankers with 29 crew members on board have been closely broken within the Black Sea, triggering an oil spill, authorities in Russia have mentioned.
Footage launched by Russia’s Southern Transport Prosecutor’s Workplace confirmed one of many tankers damaged in half and sinking amid a heavy storm, with streaks of oil seen within the water.
No less than one crew member was reportedly killed and the second ship was mentioned to be drifting after sustaining injury.
The incident came about within the Kerch Strait, which separates Russia from the occupied Crimean peninsula.
President Vladimir Putin has ordered a working group to be set as much as cope with the incident, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev, native media reported.
