PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Authorities are investigating a potential arson after a hearth broken the automotive, carport and residential of Portland Metropolis Councilor Candace Avalos in a single day Sunday.
Portland Hearth & Rescue officers stated they responded to stories of the fireplace within the Mill Park neighborhood at round 2:40 a.m., discovering a number of automobiles and a carport on fireplace.
The fireplace was efficiently put out and no accidents had been reported, authorities stated.

In an announcement, Councilor Avalos recalled waking as much as her automotive, carport and residential “engulfed in flames.”
“I’m grateful for the short response from Portland firefighters who prevented the fireplace from spreading even additional,” she stated.
Avalos added she and her cat, Valentino, managed to flee the blaze.
“I’m being supported by my great mates, neighbors, and family members as I navigate what comes subsequent,” she stated.
