Stefano Gabbana Stepped Down from Dolce & Gabbana

Stefano Gabbana reportedly resigned as chairman of Dolce & Gabbana — the design home he co-founded with Domenico Dolce in 1985 — in December. He’s now contemplating what to do along with his 40 % stake within the firm, per Enterprise of Trend. Domenico’s brother, Alfonso Dolce, has taken over as chairman, whereas former Gucci CEO Stefano Cantino is claimed to be taking up a high administration position. The corporate is reportedly getting ready for brand new negotiations with its financial institution lenders.

Maybe surprisingly, Gabbana’s resignation doesn’t seem like resulting from any scandal or offensive comment. Through the years, the model and its founders have come below fireplace for racism and homophobia, which they usually refuse to apologize for. In a single memorable 2018 incident, Dolce & Gabbana was pressured to cancel a present in China after posting a promotional video of a Chinese language girl clumsily trying to eat Italian meals with chopsticks. Gabbana adopted this up with some racist Instagram feedback about Chinese language folks — although he later claimed his account had been hacked. As lately as January, Dolce & Gabbana was criticized for failing to forged any nonwhite fashions for its runway present.
