EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 26-year-old man was arrested for kidnapping after allegedly utilizing a GECU worker as a “defend” in a hostage state of affairs on Tuesday, Oct. 21, in Northeast El Paso, in accordance with the El Paso Police Division.
Luis Fernando Colomo, 26, was charged with aggravated kidnapping, use as a defend/hostage. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with a $75,000 bond.

On Oct. 21, officers have been dispatched to a GECU department at 9435 Dyer St. in reference to a reported kidnapping.
Based on witnesses, Colomo entered the department “appearing nervously”. Later witnesses claimed Colomo advised an worker that “armed males have been following him,” EPPD mentioned.
Colomo then grabbed the worker, implied he had a weapon and compelled the worker into an workplace. Later, exterior of the constructing, Colomo mentioned he deliberate to make use of the worker as a “defend.”
The worker managed to flee when police help was requested. EPPD mentioned officers shortly discovered Colomo and arrested him.
